Abstract
1,242,083. Depilatory compositions. M. DOUGHTY. 20 Oct., 1969 [22 July, 1968], No. 34774/68. Heading A5B. A depilatory composition is prepared by stirring together sugar, water and citric acid, with the optional addition of gelatin or ising- lass, but no other ingredients, heating the resulting mixture until it become opaque and acquires a creamy consistency, allowing it to cool and mechanically working it for 5 to 6 minutes. The citric acid may be in the form of lemon, orange or grapefruit juice and the sugar may be refined white sugar or molasses. The mixture may be boiled vigorously for 10 to 15 minutes.
