Abstract

1,240,520. Anti-adhesive coatings. SHINETSU CHEMICAL CO. 8 Nov., 1968 [10 Nov., 1967], No. 53081/68. Heading B2E. Paper, processed paper and plastics films are rendered non-adherent to surfaces that normally adhere thereto by dissolving in an organic solvent a mixture of (1) an organohydrogen polysiloxane having a viscosity of 10-1,000 c.p.s. at 25‹C. and containing in the molecular chain at least one unit of formula where R<SP>2</SP> is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, which may be halogenated, a and b are positive integers and a + b # 3, (2) an organopolysiloxane of viscosity more than 100,000 c.p.s. at 25‹C. and containing in the molecular chain at least one unit of formula where R<SP>4</SP> is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, which may be halogenated, R<SP>5</SP> is a vinyl or allyl group, c and d are positive integers and c + d # 3 and (3) a platinum compound, the units contained in the organohalogen polysiloxane being from 0.1 to 10 times by weight the units contained in said organopolysiloxane and the amount of the platinum compound is from 2 Î 10<SP>-5</SP> to 2 X 10<SP>-1</SP> parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the polysiloxanes (1) and (2), applying the resulting solution to the sheet material and heating the sheet material at 50-100‹C. for 10-60 seconds. The organohydrogen polysiloxane (1) and the organopolysiloxane (2) may each be a mixture of more than one such polymer. The R's may be alkyl groups such as methyl, aryl groups such as phenyl and napththyl, alkaryl groups such as tolyl or xylyl, haloalkyl groups such as chloromethyl and trifluoropropyl and haloaryl groups such as monochlorophenyl. The platinum compound may be a chloroplatinic acid or a platinum olefin complex.
