Abstract

1,240,212. Contact devices for magnetic switches. INTERNATIONAL STANDARD ELECTRIC CORP. 1 Oct., 1969 [9 Oct., 1968], No. 48287/69. Heading H1N. A magnetic reed contact device has parallel rigid members 2, 3 sealed in one end of an envelope 1 and the longer member 2 has a magnetic reed armature 4 secured at its inner end and arranged to engage the shorter member 3 when influenced by the magnetic field of a permanent magnet 9 or a coil (not shown). The members 2, 3 are electrically and magnetically conducting and a flux concentrating block 8 is provided. A thin layer of insulating material (not shown) may be provided between the unattached part of the reed 4 and the member 2.
