1,139,093. Thread brakes. MACHINEFABRIEK L. TE STRAKE, N.V. 14 April, 1966 [15 April, 1965], No. 16356/66. Headings D1D and D1E. If a thread 2 tends to stick to a clamping member 1a or 1b when the members are moved apart to release the thread, a fixed abutment 3a, within which the clamping member retracts, disengages the thread from the member. The tubular outer parts 3a may be the movable clamping members and the inner parts 1a, 1b may be the fixed abutments. In another form, only one clamping member 1a is operated and the fixed abutment consists of a rod passing diametrically through a groove in the end face of the clamping member; in this embodiment, the lower clamping member is spring loaded upwardly against a stop.
