Abstract

1,138,011. Printing process; anti-counterfeiting. CANADIAN BANK NOTE CO., Ltd. 23 June, 1966 [6 July, 1965], No. 28023/66. Heading B6A. In order to readily detect photographed counterfeits a bank note is so patterned that when reproduced by photo-mechanical reproduction methods including half-tone screening processes a moire pattern is discernible on the reproduced note. As in Fig. 15 (not shown) various line spacings and orientations are used in the patterns, some areas also showing parallel lines of gradually increasing or decreasing width.
