Abstract

1,137,969. Electric motors. NORTH AMERICAN AVIATION Inc. 18 Nov., 1966 [20 Dec., 1965], No. 51706/66. Heading H2A. In a gyroscope motor the stator conductors 17 are carried in tunnel slots 18 and the stator is supported by a circumferential heat-conducting web 12, so that the heat generated is readily conducted to the casing 11. The stator lamination packs 16a, 16b are mounted on either side of the supporting web. The holes 18 run through these packs and also the stator body 13 or the supporting web 12. The shaft 14 of the rotors 19a, 19b is carried in a gas or other bearing 15 in the stator body.
