Abstract

1,136,244. Panel for carrying information strips. SHANNON Ltd. 22 April, 1966 [27 April, 1965], No. 17698/65. Heading G5C. A panel for carrying information strips comprises a rectangular piece of sheet material (11), two strips of sheet metal (12) and (13) bent into channels and secured over the upright edges of the panel piece, each strip having at least one edge spaced from the panel to form with the panel a groove to receive the ends of vertically spaced substantially horizontal information strips (15), and two lengths of wire (17), (18) around which are curved the upper and lower edges of the panel piece, the wires having turned-down end portions 20, 21 to serve as pivot pins. The panel may be supported vertically or inclined to the vertical in a wall mounted or desk stand frame. A wall mounted frame comprises upper and lower horizontal channel members 38, 39 the web portions of which are secured to the wall, the lower flange 43 of the lower channel and the upper flange 45 of the upper channel having holes to receive the pivot pins 20, 21 of the panels, and the upper flange 47 of the lower channel having slots (48) (Fig. 7, not shown) above the holes (44) so that a panel can only be removed from the frame when it is aligned with the corresponding slot. A desk stand frame, (Figs. 9, 10, not shown), part of which is revolvable comprises circular plates (58), (63) having circumferential holes (59), (60) to take the pivot pins, and rotatable plate (61) with radial slot (62) through which the horizontal portion of wire (17) must pass to enable a panel to be removed. The edge of the panel remote from the pivot pins carries a tab 28 to identify the panel, the projections 36 on the tab engaging with longitudinally spaced slots 26 on metal strip 12.
