Abstract

1,136,091. Valves. GOBLIN (B.V.C.) Ltd. 25 Feb., 1966 [15 April, 1965], No. 16213/65. Heading F2V. Non-return valve particularly for the pneumatic handling of granular or powdered materials comprises a spring-loaded, axially movable head 6 seated in a valve body provided with an inlet 1 and an outlet 2 having substantially equal cross-sectional areas and an intermediate portion 3 of greater cross-sectional area, the valve head being displaceable into the portion 3, and the cross-sectional area defined by the periphery of the valve head and the wall of the portion 3 being substantially equal to the cross-sectional area of the inlet 1 or outlet 2. The valve has a convex face and a concave or planar rear surface and is provided with a stem 7 made from a material which requires no lubrication. The spring 9 biasing the valve head abuts against a spider 8.
