Abstract

A fluid control valve for controlling the flow of gas to a boiler comprises a main valve 28 carried by a diaphragm 9a and controlling the flow from an inlet 4a to an outlet 5a. The inlet is connected through passage 38, choke 11a and passage 41 to a first chamber 10a and the pressure in the chamber 10a is controlled by a valve 13acontrolling the flow to a weep passage 12a which is connected to the burners. A second choke 17a controls the flow of gas from chamber 10a to a second chamber 16a which has a weep passage outlet 45 connected to the burners through control valves responsive to flame failure, temperature and time. With the control valves open, the valve 13a opens to reduce the pressure in the chamber 10a which allows the inlet pressure to open the main valve. When one of the control valves closes, the valve 13a closes which causes closure of the main valve. The valve is of particular use in controlling large size gas flow pipes and provides a rapid closure response.
