Abstract

1,135,288. Jig dyeing. F. SMITH & CO. (WHITWORTH) Ltd. 27 Feb., 1967 [2 March, 1966], No. 9059/66. Heading D1L. In a dyeing machine which includes rollers 22 on which material to be dyed is wound, the rollers are heated internally and heater means 21 heat the selvedge regions 23a of the material, so maintaining the temperature of the material constant both lengthwise and transversely of the fabric. The rollers are hollow and adapted to receive a heating fluid. The heater means comprises either spray tubes 21c fed with dye from the dye bath 21a or hollow check pieces 40 heated by through-flow of a fluid. The heater means is adjustable longitudinally of the roller.
