1,133,800. Steroidal preparations. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 Sept., 1967 [10 Nov., 1966], No. 50476/66. Heading A5B. A pharmaceutical composition for topical application comprises fluocinolone acetonide and/or the 21-acetate thereof, a monomethyl or monoethyl ether of diethylene or dipropylene glycol or a mixture of two or more of these solvents, and a pharmaceutically-acceptable carrier therefor. The composition may contain at least 0.01 % w/w of fluocinolone acetonide and/or the 21-acetate thereof and from 1.0% w/w to 20% w/w of the glycol ether. The composition may be in the form of an ointment, cream or oil-in-water emulsion containing conventional excipients.
