Abstract

1,133,898. Impact pulverizers. F. WAGENEDER. 22 Feb., 1967 [7 Oct., 1966], No. 8546/67. Heading B2A. An impact pulverizer 1, Fig. 1, comprises a rotor 8 and plates 3 in a crushing chamber 2 in a mill housing, a first beam 5 pivotably suspended from the housing immediately below one of the plates and supporting an arcuate arrangement of bars 7, and a second pivotally-mounted beam 15 also carrying an arcuate arrangement of bars 7. The second beam is mounted supported in a structure housed in a control box 22, located outside the chamber. The lowest bar on the second beam is located lower than the lowest bar on the first beam. The lowest bars of the two beams form a gap 17. The beam 5 is controlled by a spindle 10 and linkwork 13, 14, and the beam 15 is controlled either by a hand-wheel 26 or by a motor 28. The mill casing is divided into two parts located together by pins 37, and the casing is opened by operation of a hand-wheel 38 which cooperates with a gear-wheel and rack mechanism. Doors in the casing provide access to the grinding chamber. Feed may be via a chute 18 or a vibro-feed; device 19. Protection against tramp metal is effected by using a known device to switch off a feed conveyor if large metal pieces are detected.
