Abstract

1,133,205. Spectacle frames. N. TURATI. Nov.15, 1965 [Sept.20, 1965], No.48393/65. Heading G2J. A spectacle frame having nose pads 10 comprises, for each nose pad 10 supporting element 5 slidably adjustable along the associated lens rim 2 and having an axis extending perpendicularly to the plane of the lens rim, and an elbow shaped pin carried by the supporting element 5 and on which the nose pad is carried by a pivot, the nose pad being rotatable in a plane parallel to the plane of the lens rim by screwing the elbow-shaped pin into and out of a sleeve 7 attached to the element 5 by rotation about said axis. As shown, the element 5 is arranged to slide in a groove 14 formed in the rim 2 and is urged against the base of the groove by a spring 4. Adjustment is made by pulling the nose pad 10 away from the rim 2 to release the element 5 and subsequently sliding the nose pad along the rim. In a modification the element 5 is held on the rim by a slidable clip in which case the element 5 engages the rim 2 itself.
