Abstract

1,132,754. Shearing. COMPAGNIE FRANCAISE THOMSON-HOUSTON-HOTCHKISS BRANDT. 29 June, 1966 [29 June, 1965], No. 29303/66. Heading B3W. [Also in Division D1] A wire cutter used in a continuous wirewinding machine comprises a roller 28 having a concentric cavity 32 on its internal face and a slot 33 communicating with the outer periphery of the roller and the cavity 32. The outer flange of a wire-guiding pulley (25) fits into the cavity, see also Fig. 10, not shown. When an amount of wire has been wound, the wire is fed from around the pulley 25 and into the slot 33 and the knife blade 29 is moved around the outer periphery of the roller to cut the wire. The knife is pivoted on the hollow shaft 22 and the movement of the knife 29 is initiated by a stop (37) projected into path of a lever (36) mounted on the knife as the knife is rotated around the wire being wound. The knife blade 29 is normally held away from the slot by a spring 38.
