Abstract
1,131,098. Selective signalling. SIEMENS A.G. 7 Sept., 1966 [8 Sept., 1965], No. 39965/66. Heading G4H. In a digital-to-analogue converter with a Gray code input, the successive bits of the input are assigned weights 1,3,7,15 ... (2-<SP>n</SP>1), the most significant 1-bit is assigned a positive sign, and the succeeding 1-bits are assigned alternate signs. For example, an input of 1101 ( = 9 in Gray code) is decoded as 15 - 7+1. A relay switching circuit with appropriately weighted resistors and positive and negative supply voltages is described, but electronic switches could be used.
