Abstract
1,129,172. Thermographic processes. FUJI SHASHIN FILM K. K. Jan. 6, 1966 [Jan. 8, 1965], No.714/66. Heading G2C A thermographic process for producing powder images comprises placing an original in contact with a material comprising a support bearing a layer containing a colloidal binder and compound which releases its water of crystallization on heating, subjecting the assembly to infra-red radiation and developing the latent image by applying a powder which is either admixed with or coated with a surfactant other than saponin which adheres to the water released on heating. The developed image may be fixed by heating or by solvent vapour treatment. The specified compounds releasing water of crystallisation is sodium acetate trihydrate. The heat sensitive layer may contain a metal soap such as zinc palmitate or lead stannate. Specified surfactants are alkyl sulphosuccinates, alkyl benzene sulphonates, alkyl esters of sorbitan and polyoxethylene sorbitan and long-chain hydrocarbon quaternary ammonium salts.
