Abstract

1,128,601. Corner joints for hollow plastics frames. B.H. TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENTS Ltd. 3 Jan., 1966 [5 Jan., 1965], No. 414/65. Heading E1J. The hollow members 1 of plastics material are moulded or otherwise formed with bores 2 longitudinally of the members 1 from the open ends of the frame members and angle metal air plastics sprigs 4 having limbs formed with protuberances, e.g. a coarse external thread 5 are push fitted into the bores 2 of the adjacent mitered ends of a corner and pressed tightly together and a resin and a catalyst to form an adhesive are forced through holes 8 communicating with the bores 2 the adhesive being caused to enter the bores to bond the sprigs 4 to the walls of the bores. The bores may be countersunk at 7 to receive a ground disc 6 on the junction of the sprig 4 and also receive the resin and catalyst.
