Abstract
1,128,156. Xerography. RANK XEROX Ltd. 22 Oct., 1965 [30 Oct., 1964], No. 44910/65. Heading H1K. A xerographic plate comprises a conductive backing layer having a photoconductive layer thereon said photoconductive layer being overlayed with a layer of resin and a metal stearate. The stearate may be that of Zn, Ca, Mg, Cd, Ba, Li, Pb, Fe, Na, A1, Ni, Co, Cu, or mixtures thereof, whilst the resin may be nitrocellulose, ethylcellulose, urea-formaldehyde, alkyd, silicone, acrylic ester or para-sulphonamide. These two components may be sprayed on as a solution in specified organic solvents. The photoconductive layer may be Se, S, ZnO, anthracene or mixtures thereof which may be applied by vacuum deposition to a substrate of tin oxide-coated glass, aluminium or a fibrous material having carbon or metal, particles or water added thereto to render it conducting.
