Abstract
1,125,051. Protective arrangements for dynamo electric machines. LOSENHAUSENWERK DUSSELDORFER MASCHINENBAU A.G. 6 Jan., 1966 [8 June, 1965 (2)], No. 660/66. Headings H2A and H2K. An overload protective arrangement for a three phase motor, e.g. of a concrete vibrator, comprises a heat conducting ring or sleeve 14 within the three motor windings 12, a temperature-responsive switch 15 mounted, e.g. soldered, on the ring or sleeve and effecting the energization of a release device of a main circuit-breaker when any one of the windings 12 becomes overheated due to overload or other fault condition. The ring 14 may be a copper ring with a thin layer of pressboard on its external surface, the ring being arranged within and in engagement with the internal surface of the windings, which together with the ring and the switch may be embedded in a casting resin having a powdered quartz filler. The main circuit-breaker (not shown) may have a bi-metallic releasing element energized from the secondary winding of a transformer having its primary winding connected in series with the temperature-responsive switch between a phase conductor at the motor and another phase conductor at the switch, Fig. 2 (not shown).
