Abstract

A lubricant comprises one or more diesters of one or more cyclohexane carboxylic acids with linear diols said diesters having the general formula <FORM:1124469/C4-C5/1> where R is H or alkyl and n is 2-10, together with one or more prior art lubricants, and/or additives. Diesters specified are butanediol-1, 4 - di - (methylcyclohexanate), ethylene glycol dicyclohexanate, pentanediol - 1,5 - di - (methylcyclohexanate) and hexanediol - 1,6-di-(methylcyclohexanate).
