1,124,381. Seats. FAIRCHILD HILLER CORP. 11 Jan., 1966, No. 1285/66. Heading A4J. [Also in Division B7] Passenger seats on an aircraft (see Division B7) have bases 32 hinged about their front edges at 30 so that they may either rest on a platform 25 (Fig. 6, not shown) or may be folded forwards to rest on front seat supports 21 to cover footwells and form a continuous cargo deck. If the seat base is longer than the footwell it may be in two parts 32, 34 hinged together. A backrest is attached to each base, and comprises a woven web 36 and a cushion 37 which may be clipped on the rear bulkhead 43 of the compartment when the base is raised, or stowed in the footwell when the base is folded forwards.
