1,122,779. Ratchet jacks. CONSOLIDATED PNEUMATIC TOOL CO. Ltd. 13 March, 1967 [21 March, 1966], No. 12243/66. Heading B8J. A ratchet jack with a reversing lever 13 comprises a pivoted safety catch 14 arranged, as shown in full lines, to hold the lever 13 in the "raising" position. The catch 14 is held in the position shown by a compression spring 18 on its pivot pin 15 and a ridge 17 formed on the jack body 10. The reversing lever 13 is freed for moving to its "lowering" position 12 by sliding the catch 14 along the pin 15, against the spring 18, until it may be swung to its release position, shown in dashed lines, having cleared the ridge 17.
