Abstract

1,122,199. Cap dispensing capping botttes. METALLKAPSELFABRIK LOOS & CO. G.m.b.H., and W. BEER. 3 Dec., 1965 [12 Feb., 1965], No. 51386/64. Headings B8S and B8T. A stack of nested caps 6 is placed on shoot 5 being fed thereto from pivoted magazine 7 and rest against pivoted quadrant 25. The bottom cap 6a is rotated by engagement with endless belt 12 whilst the rest of the stack is held up by pressure pad 21 and is then blown by air jet 24 down to quadrant 25; and when quadrant 25 is released by being pivoted the bottom cap is transferred to a pocket 11 of rotor 10 at position 11a. When the pocket is moved to position 11b the cap is swaged by element 44, and then moved to position 11c where air jet 48 operates to remove a separating paper; and finally at position 11d the said cap is discharged on to the waiting bottle 26. Fig. 2. The belt 12 is pressed into engagement with the side of cap 6a by rollers 16a and 16c carried by slides 17, 18 operated together by cam 20. Fig. 8 (second embodiment). Stack of caps 6 rests on rotor 63. The bottom cap is siezed by claws 64 whilst the rest of the stack is pressed inwards and held by fingers 72 operated by a downward sliding movement of sleeve 71. When the unit 70, 71 is rotated and raised, the bottom cap is thus retained by said claws 64. The rotor 63 is then rotated through 180 degrees so that the jaws 64 are moved round and are then released by engagement of roller 62 with abutments 69 to let fall the cap in position 6a.
