Abstract

1,121,013. Fuel injection systems. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBERG-NURNBERG, A. G. June 1, 1966 [July 10, 1965], No.24514/66. Heading F1B. In a fuel injection system operating on highviscosity fuel which is heated in the fuel tank and in the pipe 3 leading from the pump 2 to the injector 4, a separate cooling or heating circuit 6, with a heater 8 and cooler 7 in parallel therein, is connected to the injector 4, a valve 9 in which controls the temperature of the fluid supplied to the injector heating or cooling passages in dependence upon the temperature at a point 11 upstream of the pump 2 and a point 12 at the injector. The heavy oil, heated in the fuel tank, passes through a viscosity measuring device 1 to the pump 2. The temperatures at the points 11, 12, are compared in a bridge circuit device 10 and the resultant controls valve 9 to supply cold, hot, or mixed water to the injector passages. Under normal running conditions valve 9 supplies cold water to cool the injector; at manoeuvring and starting, warm or hot water is supplied.
