Abstract

1,120,482. Electrically heated flexible hoses. ELECTRIC HOSE & RUBBER CO. Ltd. 2 Dec., 1966 [4 Dec., 1965], No. 51542/65. Heading H5H. [Also in Division F2] A flexible hose, e.g. for spraying grease, has heating means comprising at least one inner bare steel braid 2 insulated by asbestos braid incorporating rubber 3 from at least one outer bare steel braid 4, braid(s) 2 and braid(s) 4 touching at the ends of the hose for connection in series, with a current supply at terminals 9 insulated at 11. The ends of the braids are clamped by sleeves 5 and spigots 8 of couplings 6 with insulation 7. The hose also includes a rubber lining 1 and an expanded neoprene foam rubber cover 12.
