Abstract

1,119,893. Spray-producers; aerating liquids. A. M. MOEN. 22 Sept., 1966 [22 Spet., 1965], No. 42409/66. Headings B1C and B2F. Domestic apparatus suitable for forming a spray from a supply of hot and/or cold water comprises a member 34 adjustably mounted within the part-spherical surface of an adaptor 22, a member 50 screwed onto the member 34 and provided with apertures 52 which form the water passing through the aligned passages 38, 40 of the members 22, 34 into jets, and a member 70 movable axially with respect to the member 50 into a first position in which the jets are directed within a generally cylindrical portion 72 of the member 70 and air is entrained to mix with the water before discharge through a passage 86 in the member 70, or into a second position in which the jets direct the water only into the passage 86, from which it is discharged through a plurality of openings 84. In the second position of the member 70, Fig. 3 (not shown), a tapered extension 74 on the portion 72 cooperates with a water deflector 58 which is supported by a screw 60 which is mounted in the member 50. The screw also supports three screens 62, 64, 66, the screen 66 being spaced from the other screens. A generally conical filter is mounted on the upper surface of the member 50. The member 70 is formed of a plastics material of low heat conductivity and is formed on its outer generally cylindrical portion, which helps to define the passage 86, with an actuator portion 76. The member 50 may be attached directly to the adaptor. Fig. 5 (not shown).
