Abstract
1,119,382. Gas turbine by-pass jet engines; compressor rotors. SOC. NATIONALE d'ETUDE ET DE CONSTRUCTION DE MOTEURS d'AVIATION. June 16, 1966 [June 24, 1965], No.27026/66. Headings F1G, F1J and F1T. An axial-flow compressor for a gas turbine by-pass jet engine, Fig. 1, has two contra-rotating rotors 1, 2 driven by low and high pressure turbines 4, 6. The rotor 2 comprises a number of blade rings spaced apart by members 12, Figs. 1 and 2, each welded at 13 to one blade ring and interengaged with the other blade ring by crenellations 14 which permit relative circumferential and radical movement. The members 12 may adjoin one another to form a continuous collar or be spaced apart circumferentially of the rotor. Successive blade rings may have different numbers of blades.
