Abstract

1,118,793. Measuring fluid-new. SMITHS INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 15, 1966 [March 17, 1965], No.11399/65. Heading G1R. In a pilot-static probe in which an intermediate portion 5 connects a forward and rear portions 3, 5 and has an increasing cross-section in the rearward direction, one or more static pressure sensing ports 26, 27 are provided within the region of the forward end to just beyond the rear end of the intermediate portion 5. The ports 26, 27 are arranged in pairs and approximately 37À5 degrees on each side of a vertical centre line. The probe is electrically heated throughout its length.
