[Also in Divisions B5 and B8] A foamed plastics sheet for use as a packaging material is embossed by passing a flat sheet, when in a deformable state, e.g. hot, between two driven rollers (10), Fig. 2, having spaced, radially projecting pins (12), (13), with hemi. spherical ends. The design is set by chilling the material. A suitable plastics is foamed polystyrene.
