Abstract

1,117,548. Carrier frame for burners and/or oxygen lances. MAERZ OFENBAU A.G. 31 Aug., 1966 [4 Oct., 1965], No. 38918/66. Heading F4B. A carrying frame for burners and/or lances for a melting furnace comprises parallel guides 1 containing mountings 2 for burners and/or lances 3, with the axes of the burners and/or lances lying on generatrices of a cylindrical surface. The guides are brought into alignment with the lead-in opening in the furnace wall by means of a drive 5 moving them about a pivot axis 6. When in this position the pivot 6 of the carrying frame may be fittable through any desired angle from 0-90 about a transverse axis 9 by means of an adjusting mechanism 8. The mountings 2 for the burners and/or lances are provided with rollers 10, which are movable in the guides 1 and for a movement of a burner and/or lance into or out of the furnace, these mountings can be axially displaced by a motor 12 e.g. with the aid of chains 11. Other embodiments of the invention include all the guides being mounted on a common horiz. plate, at an inclination transverse to the axial direction of movement of the burners and/or lances, or being disposed one over the other in a vertical plane, the carrying frame being displaceable along a straight line parallel to the axes of all burners or lances. According to which embodiment is used either the whole carrying frame can be pivotally movable or the individual guides for the mountings of the burner and/or lance.
