1,117,222. Seats; tables; resilient mountings. SYSTEM COMMUNICA A.B. 22 June, 1965, No. 26311/65. Headings A4B, A4H, A4J and A4U. A height adjusting device for a chair or table consists of a tube 4 containing balls 5 the lowest one of which rests on a spring 3 disposed on the upper end of a column 2. The tube 4 is slidably fitted to the column. A plate 10 carrying a seat 8 or a table top is pivoted at 13 to brackets 9 on tube 4. A pin 11 on plate 10 enters an opening 12 in tube 4 to engage between any two adjacent balls 5 disposed at a requisite distance from the upper end of the column, dependent upon the degree of height adjustment.
