Abstract

1,117,122. Haymaking machines. TEXAS INDUSTRIES Inc. 13 Aug., 1965 [11 Sept., 1964], No. 34879/65. Heading A1F. A haymaking machine comprises a tractor-mounted frame 1 upon which are mounted two groups of rake-wheels 23, 26 one group 26 being mounted on a subframe 11, 14 which is movable laterally on parallel links 7, 8 whereby the two rakewheel groups can operate upon alternate swaths F, H, leaving an intermediate swath G unworked, or can be moved close together so that the device operates as a normal swath-turner and works adjacent swaths. The invention envisages a method of working wherein two runs of the machine are made in opposite directions, during swath-collecting, so that, in the first run, crop from swaths F, H is deposited upon the crop in adjacent swaths E, G; the next run, in the opposite direction, results in all the crop in the unworked swaths G, E being aggregated into two large windrows in place of the four swaths E, F, G. H existing previously.
