Abstract
1,116,298. Hair clippers. EISEMANN G.m.b.H., and A. POPP, [trading as ALFRED POPP METALLWARENFABRIK]. 29 March, 1967 [30 March, 1966], No. 14262/67. Heading B4B. In a cutter head for a hair clipper, of the kind provided with a fixed lower cutter 1 and a reciprocating upper cutter 2 which is guided at a fixed distance from the lower cutter by means of a guide rod 5 mounted at its ends in two support members 6 secured to the lower cutter, each of the members 6 is provided with a rodlocating recess 7 and the members 6 are joined together by a bridge 9 which is secured to the lower cutter by a screwed connection. Each recess 7 is limited by a wall 8 of the member 6. The bridge 9 is provided with a projection 26 having a bevelled edge 27 abutting against the rod 5. The screwed connection comprises a bolt 14 secured against rotation in the lower cutter and extending through a slot 11 in the upper cutter, through a hole 13 in the bridge 9 and through a hole 19 in a sealing cover 18, the end of the bolt having a lock nut 15 screwed thereon with a spring 16 interposed between the nut and the bridge. Alternatively, the bridge may be resilient in which case the screwed connection comprises a screwthreaded bolt which has a head inserted in the lower cutter and constructed as an adjusting element, the bolt engaging in a tapped bore in the bridge. The members 6 each have a pin 24 engaging a hole 25 in the lower cutter. The members 6 with the bridge 9 and its projection 26 constitute a single component which is preferably moulded from glass-fibre reinforced nylon. The cover 18 is secured to the members 6 by means of pins 20 engaging holes 21, the pins being replaced or supplemented by a locating strip 22 which can snap into notches 23 formed in the members 6.
