Abstract

1,115,662. Boring earth &c. HYDRAULIC DRILLING EQUIPMENT Ltd. 4 Dec., 1964 [4 Nov., 1963], No. 43463/63. Addition to 986,340. Heading E1F. A boring unit arranged to be readily attached to a mounting comprises a mast to which is attached a motor associated with means giving a drill percussive movement, the means being arranged for bodily movement along the drilling axis during drilling. The mast comprises members 1 on which a frame 7c is vertically slidable. The drill is attached to a line 21 fixed to the frame at 22 and moved by a cam 7b driven by a motor 7 to reciprocate the drill. As the hole is drilled the frame is lowered by a ram 4. The frame is movable laterally by rams 9 to permit use of a bailer. The unit may be converted to a rotary drill according to Specification 986340 by dispensing with the frame and cam and permitting the motor to slide vertically on the mast on pins 8.
