Abstract

1,115,188. Water tube boilers. RHEINSTAHL HENSCHEL A.G. 23 Sept., 1965 [30 Jan., 1965], No. 40635/65. Heading F4A. A water tube steam generator with natural circulation comprises an upper steam drum and a lower water drum connected by a symmetrical arrangement of spaced banks of vertical water tubes positioned to form substantially flat and substantially gas-tight walls 3, 4 extending the full length of the fire-box 2 apart from apertures 6, 6<SP>1</SP> and 8, 8<SP>1</SP> whereby flue gases can pass in series through flues 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, 9, 9<SP>1</SP> in a direction transversely to the water tubes. The cross. sectional area of the flues decreases progressively in stages in the direction of gas flow. The end walls are lined with tubes 5, 5<SP>1</SP>.
