Abstract

1,114,544. Stud and socket fastenings. F. T. PRODUCTS Ltd. 15 Dec., 1966 [15 Dec., 1965], No. 53243/65. Heading E2B. A resilient fastener comprises a circular head 11 having a central portion 13 provided with a tubular shank 12 for securing the fastener in an aperture in a support panel 24 and an annular wall 14 spaced radially outwardly from the central portion and joined thereto by a flexible web 15 and a plurality of ribs 17 connected to the annular wall and the central portion to resist radially inward movement of the annular wall. A pin 20 attached to the central portion 13 at the bottom of a countersink 19 is forced into the shank to expand it beneath the aperture in the support. The internal surface of the shank is provided with a number of equally spaced ribs. Internal flanges of a moulding 23 are pressed over the undercut edge 22 of the fastener, which may be made of plastics.
