Abstract
1,114,105. Treating explosives. DYNAMIT NOBEL A.G. 22 Dec., 1966 [24 Dec., 1965], No. 57565/66. Heading C2C. [Also in Division C1] The surface conductivity and trickling capacity of a crystalline explosive, e.g. pentaerythritol tetranitrate, cyclotrimethylene trinitramine, lead azide or lead trinitro resorcinate or a mixture of two or more thereof, are increased by adding to the crystalline explosive a carbon black in a form having a specific resistivity of less than 1 ohm cm. and a specific surface area of more than 20 m.2/g. The carbon black is suitably employed in a quantity of up to 0À5% by wt. based on the explosive.
