Abstract

A method of treating grains and seeds to protect them from fungi comprises applying to the grain or seeds a preparation containing: a mixture of (a) 3, 3, 4, 4-tetrachlorotetrahydrothiophene-1, 1-dioxide with (b) pentachloronitrobenzene and/or tetrachloronitrobenzene and/or hexachlorobenzene and/or tetramethylthiuram disulphide and/or N-trichloromethylmercaptotetrahydrophthalimide, the weight ratio of (a) to (b) being within the range of from 1 : 1 to 1 : 10, and an inert carrier such as talcum.ALSO:A fungicidal composition for treating seeds comprises a mixture of (a) 3, 3, 4, 4, - tetrachlorotetrahydrothiophene - 1, 1 - dioxide with (b) pentachloronitrobenzene and/or tetrachloronitrobenzene and/or hexachlorobenzene and/or teramethylthiuram disulphide and/or N-trichloromethyl mercaptotetrahydro phthalimide, the weight ratio of (a) to (b) being within the range of from 1:1 to 1:10, in conjunction with an inert carrier material.
