Abstract

[Also in Division B7] A marine fender comprises a rigid supporting plate or strip 3a, a buffer part I secured on the plate or strip (openings 6 in the plate or strip providing keying points) and formed of a cellular resilient plastics material, preferably foamed polyurethane), having partly (e.g. the core) a closed cell structure and partly (e.g. the outer portions) an open cell structure, and a protective layer 2 of homogeneous resilient material (e.g. sprayed-on polyurethane) encasing the buffer part and the plate or strip.
