Abstract

1,112,363. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. 14 July, 1965 [17 July, 1964], No. 29844/65. Heading B4B. A shear plate for a dry shaver which is constructed partly for shaving and partly for hair clipping and has a rotary cutter comprises a disc-shaped portion 4 and a cylindrical rim 7, the portion 4 being connected to the rim 7 over sectors 8, 15 and 16 by radially-extending portions 5 and 6 of the shear plate while over the remaining sector 18, the shear plate is formed with radially-extending portions 10 which terminate in blunt tips just inside the rim 7 the upper part of which is removed to form an opening 12. The sector 8 of the shear plate is thinner than sectors 15, 16 and 18. The cutter consists of a ring of blades carried on radial arms.
