Abstract

1,111,628. Batch-counting. BROOKE BOND TEA Ltd. 7 Feb., 1967 [13 May, 1966], No. 21279/66. Heading G4D. [Also in Division B8] Articles such as tea bags 11 are conveyed by picker arms 12 to be deposited on a conveyer belt 17 by coaction between a movable cam 15 and each picker arm 12. When a predetermined number of bags have been deposited on 17 the cam 15 is withdrawn and succeeding tea bags are deposited on another conveyer belt 18 by the action of a fixed cam. Completion of a second count restores cam 15 to original position. Control of the cam 15 is effected by a doubleacting air cylinder 22 controlled by a spool valve 23 controlled in turn by solenoids 24, 25. The solenoids are energized at adjustable counts by shaft-driven counters.
