Abstract
N - Benzyl - N1,N11 - dimethylguanidine is prepared by reacting a benzyl isocyandihalide with methylamine and if desired converting the resultant hydrochloride into another acid addition salt and if desired, preparing the benzyl isocyandihalide by reacting benzyl isothiocyanate with a halogen. The benzyl isocyandihalide may also be prepared by reacting benzyl isocyanide with a halogen.
