Abstract

The Specification describes and claims a continuous rod cigar making machine similar to that described in Specification 1,110,443 but wherein the split die means is replaced by a pair of co-acting rolls for compressing regularly spaced portions of the rod to reduced the cross-section thereof whereby each individual cigar is formed with a tapered end. The rolls comprise flanged discs so shaped at their periphery that the space between the discs is adapted to receive the cigar rod, portions of the periphery of the discs being so shaped as to co-operate to compress spaced portions of the cigar rod passed therebetween.
