Abstract
1,108,285. Twisting. PIRELLI GENERAL CABLE WORKS Ltd. 16 June, 1966 [10 Sept., 1965], No.38669/65. Addition to 1, 016, 446. Heading B3E. Apparatus for imparting a helical lay to a straight sectoral conductor in which the conductor is twisted in its passage to or from a drum carried by a cradle rotated in a plane containing the drum axis as disclosed in Specification 1,016,446 .differs from that disclosure in that a second pair of rolls 5, which define an aperture corresponding to the crosssection of the conductor, is provided on the shaft 8 of the cradle 1 spaced from the first pair of rolls 5. Dies or guides may be provided instead of the rolls 5.
