Abstract

1,107,033. Switchgear structures. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 28 June, 1965 [1 July, 1964], No. 27186/64. Heading H1N. In switchgear of the kind comprising a cabinet and a horizontally withdrawable truck with a circuit-breaker and isolating contacts, the circuit-breaker is a vacuum switch. Various single and polyphase arrangements are shown and described in which the isolating contacts may be moved vertically or rotated when the truck is withdrawn so that when the truck is pushed in the bus-bars or cable terminals may be earthed through the switch or for duplicate bus-bar selection. In other arrangements the isolating contacts may be withdrawn to a position in which they engage earthing contacts without withdrawal of the truck. Current transformers and interlocking means may be provided.
