Abstract

Calcium sulphate hemihydrate is formed into a thick slurry with water, and calcium carbonate together with sulphuric acid, in sufficient excess to accelerate the setting of the slurry, are mixed therein and the foaming slurry is cast either continuously or batchwise in a mould.
