Abstract

Compositions for combatting falling hair and seborrhea comprise sterile amniotic liquid withdrawn from a ruminant which has been pregnant for less than 40% of its normal period of gestation. The ruminant may be a cow, ewe, or goat. Solids are preferably removed from the amniotic liquid immediately after withdrawal. The liquid may then be sterilised by filtration under pressure. The sterilised amniotic liquid may be lyophilized, preferably after admixture with glycine, and redissolved in sterile water at the moment of use. The redissolved lyophilisate may be dialysed in water and have methionine added thereto prior to lyophilization. The compositions may be in the form of lotions or creams.
