Abstract
1,103,069. Reciprocating pumps. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Aug. 11, 1966 [Sept. 1, 1965; Sept.22, 1965], No.35985/66. Heading F1A. In a diaphragm pump the inlet passage 58 enters a surge chamber 54 opposite a baffle 46 having apertures 48 leading to the inlet valve 32. The centre of the baffle may have a depression concave or convex in relation to the inlet 58 Figs. 2, 3, 4 (not shown). The inlet and outlet valves 32, 34 are supported on a member 26 which together with a cover member 28 forms the inlet surge chamber 54 and an outlet chamber 62. In a modification Fig. 5 (not shown) the outlet chamber (82) is divided by a member (68) to form an enlarged surge chamber.
