Abstract

A poultry house or cage is provided with a sloping floor 3 having an inlet for litter at its upper end and an outlet for litter at its lower end. The inlet is provided by a hopper 4 from which litter can be removed by the poultry themselves, and the outlet is provided by a grid 6 below which is located are movable tray 8. The litter is moved down the floor by the poultry or by vibrating the floor. The poultry house shown has a covered netting run 1 and sleeping quarters 2.
