Distribution boards. - The fixed contacts c of a distribution board are arranged beneath or between adjoining sections a of insulating-material having spaces therebetween through which the contacts of the removable fuse-carriers may be inserted into the fixed contacts beneath. In the construction shown in Figs. 4 and 5, adjoining sections a which are secured to the casing are cut away at the rear to form cells partly in one section and partly in its neighbour. These cells accommodate the fixed contacts, those at the bus-bar end being secured to the bus-bar d, as shown in Fig. 4, and those at the other end secured by screws f passing through lateral channels in the sections into straps g embracing one limb of the stationary contact as shown in Fig. 5, or into tapped holes in the contacts, or through plain holes with nuts engaging the contacts. The contacts at the busbar end may be in the form of notches in the busbar itself, cells in the sections at this end being dispensed with. The contacts at the other end may be mounted beneath the sections on an insulating bar so that in this form the sections form a slotted protective covering or shield for the fixed contacts and do not themselves carry contacts.
